Belle Plaine Salt Works. –

The last contract of the Belle Plaine salt works company for 500 feet of boring, in addition to the two hundred and ten feet done last season season, [sic] has been completed. This finishes the work for which the State aid was granted, in 12 sections of land, last winter, and a meeting of the stockholders will be held this week to determine what further action, if any, shall be taken. For the last 450 feet no water has been found, and prospects for salt don’t seem to be exhilarating just at present.
